1. Let's begin with this gray-blueish picture of Avril Lavigne.

2. Create a new layer and fill it with #C5D6D5. Set this to color burn 100%. This will give a darker blue to the base.

3. Go to Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Selective Color. Use these settings:
Red: -50, 20, -20, 0
Neutrals: -40, -40, -45, 0

4. To make her face look less pale, let's add a hint of red. Go to Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Color Balance and change
it to +10, 0, 0.

5. Time to add that green tint. Go to Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Curves and use these settings:
Red (first point): 175, 190
Red (second point): 71, 58
Green: 191, 193

6. Duplicate your base and desaturate it. Then move it all the way to the top of the layer palette and set it to 50% Soft Light.

7. Add some text. I used the font Futura with style heavy and included some tiny text at the bottom.

8. Finally, just create a new layer and use your rectangular marquee tool to make a rectangle selection on the side of the image. Fill
it with #C0006C and set it to 100% Lighten. Finished!

The color differences are subtle, but nevertheless the result does have a bolder appearance than the original. Experiment with different
color settings to best suit your base and have fun =)
