Creating this icon:
1. First, choose a picture with a pretty simple background. I used this imge
of Shinhwa.
2. I resized it to 120 pixels in width by going to Image > Image Size because there is more empty space on the left side of the image.
So make a new document 100 x 100 pixels and paste that resized image on it but shift it to the left and a little to the bottom so you
wind up with this:

3. Erase the background UP TO THE HORIZON. Use whichever method you prefer (eraser tool, selection tool, brush, etc).

4. Make a new layer below this one and fill it with #E0C8B0.

5. Take this texture I made (from the retro pack) and paste it on top of the Shinhwa layer. Flip it
vertically (Edit > Transform > Flip Vertical) and set it to 100% Multiply. Erase the parts of the texture that covers Shinhwa.

6. Let's make a checkered background the lazy, simple way. Open up a new canvas 200 x 200. Press Print Screen on your keyboard and open
up another new canvas and press Ctrl + V to paste the screenshot. Crop the checkered background from the 200 x 200 pixel canvas and
resize it to 100 x 100 pixels. Go to
Image > Adjustments > Auto Contrast. You will have to checkered background below. Now copy it and paste it on top or directly below
the Retro circles layer and set this to 20% Softlight. Erase the parts that cover Shinhwa.

7. Create a new layer directly under the Shinhwa picture. Make a long rectangle in the middle and fill it with #E0C8B0. Set it to
100% Multiply.

8. Next I typed "Shinhwa" with the font Photonica, size 12, and placed it to the right of the image.

9. Press U on your keyboard and select the Rounded Rectangle Tool on your toolbar.
Make sure it is set to Shape Layers and not Paths (check the top of your screen; it's the rectangle with four dotted corners) and set
your foreground color to #E0C8B0. Draw rectangle that goes off the right side of the canvas and set it to 70% Sreen. Put it below the
text layer.

10. Finally, I just added some optional text and it's done. ^^
