Quick Icon Coloring Tutorials
Because I got lazy and I want to provide as many different coloring tutorials as possible, each tutorial will only contain 2 pictures: the start and the finish. Don't worry, you'll manage fine. ^^

to
1. Open up your base. For this tutorial, we will use this picture of Koda Kumi.
2. Create a new layer and fill it with #333F12. Set the mode to 100% Exclusion.
3. Create another layer and fill it with #A4F5FF. Set the mode to 40% Soft Light.
4. Duplicate the base and move it to the top of the layers palette. Desaturate it and set the blending mode to 100% Soft Light.
5. Create a new layer. Press Shift + Ctrl + Alt + E to stamp visible layers. Set this layer to 100% Soft Light.
6. Merge all layers.
7. Go to Image > Adjustments> Curves and use these settings:
RGB
Input: 150
Output: 132

Red
Input: 74, 179
Output: 55, 197

Leave the rest at default settings. Finished!

to
1. For this tutorial, let's use this base of Ayumi Hamasaki.
2. Create a new layer and fill it with #3F1212. Set it to 100% Difference.
3. Create another layer and fill it with #102D68. Set it to 100% Exclusion.
4. Create a new layer and fill it with #EBDDAC. Set it to 100% Multiply.
5. Duplicate your base and move it to the top of the layers palette. Desaturate it and set it to 100% Soft light.
6. Create a new layer. Press Shift + Ctrl + Alt + E to stamp visible layers. Set this layer to 100% Color Burn.
7. Merge all layers and you're done!

to
1. Let us use this picture of BoA for this tutorial.
2. Duplicate the base and set it to 50% Screen.
3. Create a new layer and fill it with #36123F. Set it to 100% Exclusion.
4. Create another new layer and fill it with #EBACAC. Set it to 100% Soft Light.
5. Merge all layers.
6. Duplicate the merged layer and set it to 100% Soft Light.
7. Merge it again. Finished!

1. Very short tutorial! Open your image of Hyde. (remember kids, smoking is bad!)
2. Make a new layer and fill it with #420B0B. Set it to 100% Pin Light.
3. Merge all layers. FInished!

1. For this tutorial, we will use this picture of Mika Nakashima.
2. Create a new layer and fill it with #4F1F1F. Set it to 100% Difference.
3. Duplicate the base and move it to the top. Set this layer to 100% Soft Light.
4. Merge all layers.
5. Go to Image > Adjustments > Curves and use these settings:

Output: 149

Red
Input: 181
Output: 193

Green
Input: 143
Output: 129

Blue

1. For this tutorial let's use this picture of the ever-talented Pang Ling (too bad she doesn't sing anymore - what a waste of a beautiful voice!). This is very helpful for those pictures that look too yellow.
2. Press Ctrl + U and lower the saturation to -80.
3. Go to Image > Adjustment > Curves and use the following settings:
RGB
Input: 143
Output: 138

Red
Input: 149
Output: 127

Green
Input: 146
Output: 132

Leave Blue at default.
4. Create a new layer and fill it with #A3B8DE. Set it to 50% Soft Light.
5. Create a new layer and fill it with #C8E2FB. Set it to 100% Soft Light.
6. Press Shift + Ctrl + Alt + E to stamp all layers. Set this layer to 100% Color Burn.
7. Merge all layers.
8. Press Ctrl + B and use the following settings:
(Midtones) Color Levels: 50, 0, -50.
9. Duplicate layer and set it to 100% Soft Light.
10. Merge layers.
11. For this image, I used a small brush to blur some parts so it looks smoother. Finished!
